Onsen is good for health
✔Point1 Scientific benefits and effects
The chemical ingredients found in onsen can be absorbed by the body both
when bathed in and when drunk. Various pharmacologic effects are produced
from the different types of hot spring. These work comprehensively and bring
about positive benefits for your health.
✔Point2 Physical benefits and effects
Benefits from heat: Stimulates and accelerates metabolism and maintains your autonomic nervous system. Benefits from water pressure: Depending on the level of pressure, this can be beneficial for movement, and can effectively massage your body's muscles. Benefits from buoyancy: This can help to reduce the burden on your body, helping you to relax, and rehabilitate your mental and physical state.
✔Point3 The positive effects of a change of air and scenery
Onsen aren't just about the act of soaking in fresh hot water. Gazing at the sky or the sea, hearing the gentle murmuring of a river...These kinds of scenes are far away from the usual bustling activity of Japan's bustling towns and cities, and are catalysts for relieving stress, and mental fatigue. Our onsen have ideal climates for restoring, and improving your health.

Standing at the entrance of Ginzan Onsen, Japanese people experience an illusion that makes them think they have gone back in time to the Japanese Taisho era (1912-1926). You will feel a similar illusion as you step into this town that time seemed to forget.
The inns that stand on both sides of the river feel as if you were on the set of an old movie. Notoya Ryokan, a three storey wooden building is one of the onsens on the set.
The old building is worthy of being a valuable cultural property.
Ginzan Onsen boomed as a silver mining town, and at its peak in the Edo era(between around 1700-1850) , there were up to 25,000 miners working there. The history of the flourishing of both the Onsen and the mines is well documented.
There is an abandoned mine 20 minutes up from the river. At its busiest time, there were too many miners who would gather here, so an entrance restriction was put in the place. Notoya is not a typical 'Hitou' inn in a place all on its own, somewhere in the mountains. But it is specifically because it is so rare to find such an old onsen town having been preserved so excellently, that a visit to Ginzan Onsen is highly recommended.
